  1. Question: Are they seriously thinking for this?

    YES: If you look on multiple companies (as en example IT company) they are putting social media link such as twitter, face book and others on its home page or on contact us.. this will enable them to get a prospect or an insight on competitive / trend analysis. In-fact IT companies are leveraging Social media for business lead generation. For example and clear understanding you may visit HCL , Accenture, L&T and others leading company website.

    This trend is now limited for IT sector now every company would like to have a one n one relation with its customer / prospect. AS customer is the KING in the market. BUT now company don’t want to sell any product to a customer, they actually want to sell ‘Satisfaction” towards delivery to the customer.

    Companies are utilizing social media for :

    1. Community Building
    2. Product Research
    3. Customer Service
    4. Marketing & Promotion
    5. Transparency

    Should their be well planned Social Media Marketing strategy for companies?

    The simple is as follow;

    GET found your prospect / customer to your social media -- Conver them as a regular visitors (from suspect to prospect to customer) -- Analyze them through marketing & competitive analysys.
